Dry Out Pros technicians loading water extraction and drying equipment for a job in Kansas City

Our crews respond to water losses across Johnson County, Kansas City, and the surrounding metro.

Current openings

All three roles are based in the Kansas City metro and work on both sides of the state line. Select a role for the full description, or go straight to the application.

W-2 or 1099

Water Mitigation Technician

Technicians are the first people a property owner sees after a water loss. You will extract water, set and monitor drying equipment, map moisture, and record the readings and photos that support the insurance claim.

W-2 or 1099

Project Supervisor, Water Mitigation

Supervisors run several mitigation projects at once. You will build and adjust drying plans, direct technicians and labor crews, keep job files clean, and be the person adjusters and property managers call for answers.

W-2 or 1099

Restoration Labor Technician

Labor technicians do the hands-on work that lets a building dry: removing wet materials, hauling debris, moving contents, and carrying and setting equipment under a technician or supervisor.

W-2 employee or 1099 contractor

Some people want a steady paycheck and a set schedule. Others run their own business and want the work. We hire both.

W-2 employment

  • Paid through Dry Out Pros payroll with taxes withheld
  • Set schedule plus a rotating on-call schedule
  • Company equipment and job materials
  • Training on our documentation and drying standards

1099 independent contractor

  • Work as an individual or through your own business entity
  • Accept assignments as your availability allows
  • Paid per agreement and invoiced work
  • Insurance requirements reviewed before your first assignment

A restoration company run by claims people

Dry Out Pros is owned and operated by two property insurance professionals with more than 25 years each in the claims business. That shapes how we work: drying plans that follow the IICRC S500 standard, complete daily readings, and job files that hold up when an adjuster reviews them.

For you, that means clear expectations, real training on how mitigation gets documented and paid, and a team where doing the job right is the standard.

Insurance background? Tell us.

Adjusters, claims desk staff, estimators, and anyone who has worked carrier or third-party administrator programs: your experience is directly useful here. Note it on your application.

Questions from applicants

No. Restoration labor applicants do not need any certification. Technicians and supervisors with IICRC WRT, ASD, or similar credentials will be considered first for those roles, but we review every application and list the certifications we value so you know what to work toward.

Yes. Every position is open to W-2 employees and 1099 independent contractors. Select your preference on the application. Contractors may work as individuals or through their own business, and we review insurance requirements with each contractor before the first assignment.

No, but it is a plus. Our owners come from the property insurance claims side of the business, so applicants who have adjusted claims, worked a claims desk, or written estimates in Xactimate stand out.

Most work is in the Kansas City metro on both sides of the state line, including Johnson County, Jackson County, Wyandotte County, and the Northland. Some jobs are in surrounding communities such as Lawrence, Topeka, and St. Joseph, and large storm events can mean short regional deployments.

Water damage happens at all hours, so field roles include an on-call rotation that covers nights, weekends, and holidays. Daytime monitoring visits and scheduled demolition make up much of the regular week.

We review applications as they arrive. If your experience fits an open role, we will contact you by phone or email to set up a conversation.

Equal opportunity employer

Dry Out Pros, LLC is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by law.
